Thoreau and Walden:
Henry David Thoreau lived by himself in a cabin on Walden Pond in Massachusetts. His book Walden details the great wisdom he gained from this experience. He found power in simplifying his life, and, just like Taoism, he used nature as a guide to find his true path. I found The Tao of Thoreau inside Walden and I think I found Thoreau's guidebook to help us all find our way.

Tao and Taoism:
Put very simply, the Tao is the power that runs through the universe. The Tao is the creative force in all things, so observing Nature is a guide to finding your own "Tao." Finding this gives you strength and enables you to live within the blessings of the world. The Tao Te Ching is an ancient Chinese book that leads people to finding this power.
