Why will The Tao of Thoreau sell when it is published?

The Tao of Thoreau is about the search for positive meaning in a world that seems so negative. As we look for a healthy and sustainable world, Thoreau's ideas of simplicity, economy and spiritual clarity has never been more needed. This is the right time for my book.

Publishers want a book that is easily marketed. A hard to categorize book can be difficult to sell. This is not a problem for The Tao of Thoreau. My book can be marketed in two complementary ways: lovers of Thoreau and his fellow Transcendentalists, and explorers of Eastern philosophies like Taoism. Thoreau is ever-popular because he has great philosophical insight. Comparing his insights to Taoist thought verifies the deep spirituality and truth of his words.

My book has a great story behind it.

Everyone likes an original story. My book has an unusual origin: I have taken words and lines from throughout Walden and combined them into an entirely new book. Sometimes Thoreau's words were hundreds of pages apart in his text, yet in my book they join like they were meant to be together. As you can see in the samples, it is as if my book was hidden inside of Walden, waiting for someone to come and find it. These are some of Thoreau's greatest thoughts, and my book gives them the focus they deserve.

If my little experiment called Help Get My works, it will generate internet traffic and attract notice. As a result, knowledge and anticipation will build leading up to the books publication.

I am a powerful resource to market my book.

  1. As an English teacher, I can advertise and promote my books in numerous professional publications.
  2. I am a graduate of The University of Connecticut and Trinity College, and I received my teaching certification from Central Connecticut State University. Each have magazines and websites that promote the work of graduates to alumni and students.
  3. I am an active Ultimate Frisbee player, with access to email lists and websites seen by thousands of players.
  4. I have connections at The Hartford Courant, Chronogram and local radio stations to help launch media coverage of my book.
  5. My website Ask Boz is read by thousands of people.
  6. My 15 years of teaching experience, including talking to large groups of adults, means I am very comfortable speaking to diverse audiences.
  7. My wedding picture was used to advertise a photography studio! For some time, it was the main advertisement in bridal magazines. Being a little bit easy on the eyes doesn't hurt promotional opportunities!
